Created from an original photographic source and transformed through layered digital manipulation in Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator, Nocturne Current exists between photography, painting, and atmospheric abstraction.
The work deconstructs the original image into flowing fields of indigo, cobalt, violet, and fractured crimson — dissolving recognisable form into emotional texture and movement. Through layering, vector reduction, tonal distortion, and painterly reconstruction, the piece explores the tension between clarity and immersion, presence and disappearance.
Its vertical movement and submerged palette evoke deep water, memory, and nocturnal light, creating an almost cinematic sense of suspended motion. The softened edges and shifting tonal gradients allow the artwork to evolve throughout the day as surrounding light changes.
