Signal Loss
Signal Loss is a limited-edition contemporary artwork created from an original photograph of weathered painted concrete, digitally manipulated through layered glitch distortion and chromatic interference.
The work combines raw physical texture with digital disruption. Cracked plaster, oxidised turquoise and worn stone-like surfaces are interrupted by bands of white light and fractured colour, creating the sense that the image is breaking apart while trying to hold itself together.
Although abstract, the piece has a strong architectural quality. The rough mineral texture gives it weight and tactility, while the glitch effect introduces movement and tension. The result feels somewhere between a damaged wall, a corrupted screen and an artefact pulled from memory.
At 100 × 150 cm, the work becomes highly effective in minimalist interiors, particularly spaces with travertine, concrete, charcoal, black steel, soft taupe and warm timber. The turquoise and subtle iridescent shifts keep the piece from feeling heavy while still giving it strong visual presence.
This work is stronger and more commercially valuable than a straight photograph because the manipulation creates a distinct visual language and a more recognisable artistic signature.
